is a non-invasive external technique that guides abdominal organs into their proper position for optimal health and well-being. It improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen.
The technique is based on ancient practices that help with common complaints such as painful periods, low backache, and gastritis. In all, it addresses at least 35 specific conditions, and is very helpful in alleviating discomforts in pregnancy. Maya massage works by dispelling congestion and blockages to improve flow in the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems. Improved flow helps prevent progression of chronic diseases and their symptoms. In pregnancy, optimal flow allows for optimal delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the baby, maximum ligamentous support for a growing belly, and promotes efficiency of labor and birth.
These massage techniques were developed by Dr. Rosita Arivgo. She has lived in Central America for over 30 years. In Belize, she apprenticed for twelve years with Don Eligio Panti, and other renowned traditional Maya healers. The Arvigo techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage combine modern science with traditional wisdom to produce a holistic path to physical, emotional and spiritual health.
